About Omnicron - Third variant of COVID19 Virus

There is a new Omicron Virus which has spread from South Africa to the world. It has been named as the virus of concern by the WHO. It is highly transmissible but it has been observed till now that the infection is relatively mild. There are almost zero severe cases and hence no need for ICU or even hospital admission.

This change in viral behavior comes from the fact that the corona virus has undergone mutations.

This infection may actually boost your immunity whether you are vaccinated/ unvaccinated/ previously infected.

It may even prevent the spread of DELTA or other variants.

Finally Covid-19 may become an endemic disease in the world just like flue and other viral infections.

But even than please take covid precautions, ie Social distancing, Mask & Sanitization

Because nothing is 100% sure as it is still a new virus.

Latest Omicron Update: A group of South African health bodies said the new Omicron variant of the coronavirus poses a threefold higher risk of reinfection than the currently dominant Delta variant and the Beta strain citing latest findings that "provide epidemiological evidence for Omicron's ability to evade immunity from prior infection"
